
In winter, the area of Gardena/Gröden is dominated by Alpine skiers. The Gardena/Gröden - Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm resort belongs to the Dolomiti Superski association of ski resorts and boasts a total of 175 km of pistes and 83 ski lifts.
Ski trails such as "Sellaronda" are a particularly popular way of exploring the nearby valleys in the Dolomites. The Gardena/Gröden resort is directly connected to the Alta Badia, Val di Fassa/Fassatal and Arabba ski areas.
Every year in December, Gardena/Gröden hosts a famous international FIS World Cup ski race. The legendary Saslong piste is a challenging course for the men's Super-G and downhill competitions.
